Taylor has experience in Advanced Strengths, including carbon fiber composites and biological materials. He has used a wide range of characterization and analysis techniques including SEM, EDS, DIC, Instron compression and tension testing, and micro/nano hardness testing.
He also has experience in SolidWorks 3D modeling and simulations, design of experiements and statistical analysis, and a variety of programming languages including MATLAB, R, Arduino microcontrollers, and C++.
His master's research involved creating engineered ceramic/epoxy composite materials using ultrasound fields generated with piezoelectric ultrasound transducers. This novel process combined techniques from freeze-casting and ultrasound directed self-assembly to create new, bioinspired materials.
